Spiritual Awakening Journey

What is a Spiritual Awakening?

A spiritual awakening is a process of becoming more aware of the deeper aspects of oneself and the world around us. It often happens unexpectedly and can be triggered by a life-changing event, such as a loss, illness, or a significant change in one's life circumstances. During a spiritual awakening, individuals may experience a range of physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms, as well as a deepening of their spiritual practices and beliefs.

Why Does a Spiritual Awakening Happen?

There are many reasons why a spiritual awakening may happen. Sometimes, it can be a response to a crisis or a challenging life event that forces us to reevaluate our beliefs, values, and priorities. Other times, it can be the result of a gradual shift in consciousness, as we become more attuned to our inner selves and the world around us.

What is the Purpose of a Spiritual Awakening?

The purpose of a spiritual awakening is to help us awaken to our true nature and purpose in life. It can help us break free from old patterns of thinking and behavior, and awaken to a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in our lives. A spiritual awakening can also help us develop greater compassion, wisdom, and a sense of inter-connectedness with all living beings.

Through the process of a spiritual awakening, we can learn to connect with our inner selves, tap into our intuition, and develop a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in our lives. It can be a transformative experience that helps us live a more authentic, fulfilling, and spiritually aware life.

Coping with the Symptoms of a Spiritual Awakening

Going through a spiritual awakening can be a challenging process, and you may experience a range of physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms. Here are some tips to help you cope with these symptoms:

Practice Self-Care:

It's important to take care of your physical, emotional, and spiritual needs during a spiritual awakening. Make sure you're eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep, and engaging in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. Meditation, yoga, and other mindfulness practices can also help you stay centered and calm during this time.

Movement

I have found movement to be extremely helpful in order to shift energies and unlock things in the energy body. You can dance, do yoga or simply got for a walk. Movement is very helpful to get us out of our heads and into the body more too!

Seek Support:

It can be helpful to seek support from friends, family members, or a spiritual mentor who understands what you're going through. Talking about your experiences with others can help you process your thoughts and feelings and feel less isolated.

Explore Your Creativity:

Engaging in creative activities, such as writing, painting, or dancing, can help you express your emotions and connect with your inner self. This can be a powerful way to release any emotional tension or stress you may be feeling.

Practice Gratitude:

During a spiritual awakening, it's important to focus on the positive aspects of your life and practice gratitude. Take time each day to reflect on the things you're grateful for, and acknowledge any progress you've made in your spiritual journey.

Stay Grounded:

It's important to stay grounded and connected to the physical world during a spiritual awakening. Engage in activities that help you stay rooted in the present moment, such as going for a walk in nature, cooking a meal, or spending time with loved ones.

By incorporating these practices into your daily routine, you can cope with the symptoms of a spiritual awakening and emerge from the process stronger, more connected, and more spiritually aware.

Stages of Spiritual Awakening

The Call:

The first stage of a spiritual awakening is the call, which can come in many forms, such as a sudden realization, a life-changing event, or an inner knowing that something needs to change. This call can be a feeling of discontent or a sense of emptiness, which prompts us to begin seeking deeper meaning and purpose in our lives. You can go through more than one awakening in your lifetime, depending on your life path and purpose, on one of my layers of awakening, I felt a calling when I heard this song below: (still get shivers every time I hear it!)

Awakening:

The second stage is the awakening, where we begin to question our beliefs, values, and priorities. We may experience a range of physical, emotional, and spiritual symptoms, as well as a sense of disconnection from our old ways of being. During this stage, we may feel lost, confused, and uncertain about our direction in life.

Seeking:

The third stage is seeking, where we begin to actively seek out spiritual practices, teachings, and experiences that can help us find meaning and purpose in our lives. We may explore various spiritual traditions, read books, attend workshops, and seek out guidance from spiritual mentors or communities.

Resistance (Dark night of the soul):

The fourth stage is resistance, where we may encounter obstacles or challenges that test our commitment to our spiritual path. This resistance can come in the form of fear, doubt, or old patterns of behavior that no longer serve us. It's important to recognize these challenges and find ways to overcome them, such as through self-care practices or seeking support from others.

Surrender:

The fifth stage is surrender, where we begin to let go of our old ways of being and embrace the unknown. We may experience a sense of surrendering to a higher power or a deeper sense of purpose in our lives. During this stage, we may also experience a sense of inner peace and acceptance.

Integration:

The final stage is integration, where we begin to integrate our new insights and experiences into our daily lives. We may experience a sense of alignment between our inner and outer selves, and a deeper connection to our purpose and meaning in life. During this stage, we may also experience a sense of gratitude and a desire to give back to others.

These stages are not always linear, and individuals may experience them in different ways and at different times in their spiritual journey. However, understanding these stages can help us navigate the challenges and opportunities that arise during a spiritual awakening and embrace the transformative power of this process.
